Twitter = Telegraph of old

On a recent trip to LA I visited the Wells Fargo museum, which I found very interesting from an organisation point of view.  Maybe I just see organisation in most things?

Anyway, I was particularly interested to see the telegraph sent by Wells Fargo cashier, F L Lipman, from San Francisco in 1906 after the massive earthquake.  He wrote, “Building destroyed, vaults intact, credit unaffected”.  Says it all really.  And that’s when it struck me that the telegraph of old was a lot like Twitter.  For both you need to be succinct, which is a useful skill to have.
